TALES BY MOONLIGHT

from $20.00

Tales by Moonlight: A Night of Storytelling, Dance & Music

Rooted in the tradition of moonlight storytelling—where communities gathered under the night sky to share stories, music, and movement—this event invites you into a night of live performances: short plays, poetry, storytelling, dance, and music.

Please sign up for the open mic.

Location: 9910 109 Street NW, Edmonton

Date & Time: April 5th, 2025.

Doors Open at 6 PM

We prefer that you get your tickets online. Door tickets available.

You will have the pleasure of enjoying:

A Short Film + Artist Feedback Session – We’re workshopping “Beyond Love and Grief”, a short film written and directed by Tatenda Mwagura. This story explores connection, community and love. Much like theater play workshops, this session allows you to engage with the film, offering feedback directly to the director and artists. This is an opportunity to reflect, exchange, and co-create

Dance Workshops – Let us tell stories through our bodies. Led by Deborah and AMOÜGḬVAN, these two movement sessions blend rhythm, storytelling, and freestyle expression. Whether you’re here to learn or just to move, this is your invitation to get in the groove.

Live Storytelling & Music—Merlin Uwalaka will read her short story Atinuke, a tale woven with tradition, magic, and self-discovery. Accompanied by live music from Lifted Hands, the story unfolds with rhythm, voice, and sound.

Open Mic – When tickets go live, you can sign up to perform. We’ll be featuring select artists from the open mic throughout the night, keeping the spirit of communal storytelling open to all.

Soundscapes & DJ Set – The Sencelosia Band will keep the vibe moving between music with Fredy.Club, closing out the last hour with a DJ set.

Open mic slots are limited—grab your ticket and sign up early!

General Admission: $20

Art Patron Ticket: $45 ( With this ticket, support local artists and receive an 8 X 12 inch limited art print).

We are excited for a night to listen, move, create, and connect—just as it’s always been, under the moonlight.

See you there. ✨
